Congratulations to those in our crew who have advanced to race in the 2022 OFSAA Cross Country Championships, November 5. It’s no easy task. Only the top two teams and next fastest individuals qualify from regional meets from across the province! Huge congrats to Kieva (NG), Kyrie (NB), Morgan and Isabel (JG), our team co-captain Quinn (SG), Daniel, Jack, CharlieG., Cole, Liam, Curtis and team co-captain Jacob (SB). This year’s meet will be held at the Dagmar Ski Resort. Meet information including course maps, schedule, directions to the venue, etc., can be found at the championship website.
For the second day in a row, CTAC athletes demonstrated their race fitness and excelled with many strong finishes at the TDSB South/West Conference cross-country championships. In the South conference, once again we had seven Top 10 performances including MorganY winning the JG race. Other Top 10’s include KievaB 2nd in the NG, QuinnY 4th and MiaB 8th in the SG, JacobP 6th NB, QuinlanB 6th SB and CharlieC 10th in the JB. Congratulations to all!! For full results use this link.
CTAC athletes continued to excel with many strong finishes in the TDSB North/East Conference cross-country championships. The crew turned in seven Top 10 performances including KryieS. winning the North NB race. MihirM. was 7th in the same event. Other Top 10’s include DanielM. 3rd, ShoA. 4th, JacobS. 6th and EvanP. 8th in the North SB. BethanW. was 6th in the East SG race.

Saturday October 22, CTAC will be hosting a presentation by performance nutritionist Jennifer Sygo. Jennifer, among other things, is Sport Dietitian for Athletics Canada, the Toronto Raptors and Gymnastics Canada (Women’s Artistic Program). Important topics she will address include, eating for energy, pre-workout eating, post-workout recovery, race day nutrition and other key issues that affect many developing high performance athletes. All CTAC members and parents are welcome!

Entry Deadline: 11:59pm, Wednesday, September 21st
Age Categories: U12 born 2011/2012, U14 born 2009/2010, U16 born 2007/2008 and U18 born 2005/2006.
Eligibility: There are no entry standards for this meet. Athletes residing in Ontario must be registered and their clubs affiliated for 2022 with Athletics Ontario by the Entry Deadline. Athletes not registered with Athletics Ontario may enter as an unregistered athlete. An additional $1.50 fee will be charged to cover insurance.
Fees: $30 per athlete.
Confirmation: As entries are processed, performance lists will be made available online at Trackie.reg. Please check to confirm your entries following the entry deadline.
Bib pickup: All bib numbers will be available for pick up at the meet. Bib numbers should be picked up by a club coach or club representative. Any open athletes not registered with a club may pick-up their own bib number.

Maximum spike length is 13mm (1/2”). All competition and official working areas are off limits to non- competitors at all times.
Medical Personnel will be on site. The closest hospital is Sunnybrook Hospital.

Note: There are races for elementary schools running in the morning prior to the club/open sections. The above schedule is tentative and race times may move earlier depending on the final registration numbers for the elementary schools’ races.
Check in Procedure
All competitors should arrive adjacent to the starting area 15 minutes before the start of their race already warmed up with their race bib on and in their spikes ready to race. Please listen for race instructions on when to enter the start area.
Starting Procedure
There will be a mass start. Upon finishing the race, racers are encouraged to leave the start/finish area immediately, and not to congregate in this area. They will move away from the start/finish area to complete their cool down elsewhere in the park.
Course
The race features a 1k and 2k loop on flat, wide-open trails. The race is suitable for spikes. Maximum spike length is 13mm.

Florida Training Camp-April 12-16: Selected team members who demonstrate commitment to practices and competition.
